Kenneth Ferris received his music degrees and training from Western Connecticut University, University of Connecticut and the University of Hartford Hartt College. Ken taught for the Bristol School system for 37 years, with twenty of those years as music department chairman. His choirs have sung for President Carter and for Pope John Paul. He has directed over 450 performances with his madrigals, show choirs and concert choirs. His school choirs have performed in most of the Eastern States,and Canada in Montreal, Quebec and Toronto. His choirs have always achieved superior ratings when they have been adjudicated. As director of the St. Ann Church Choir, Ken and the choir traveled in 1999 to Rome for a Papal performance. Ken has produced and directed numerous musicals and community venues. His 2nd annual talent search this year sponsored thru the Bristol Chamber of Commerce again drew quality talent and capacity crowds. As artistic director of the Bristol Choral Society, Ken and the group have performed for the Bristol community in such venues as Arts in the Park, summer community concerts, and other various local and state venues. In 2003 Ken traveled with the Bristol Choral Society to Bermuda for a 5 day concert tour. This past year the Bristol Choral Society traveled to the Carribean for their concertising. As a vocalist, Ken is in constant demand and has given many solo concerts for organizations in the community and state. Ken continues to coach and teach private vocal students. Ken lives with his wife Marylou in Burlington. |
